DREAMS part (i)

1. You forget 90% of your dreams.
Within 5 minutes, half of your dream is forgotten.
Within 10 minutes of waking, 90% of your dream is forgotten.

2. Blind people also dream.
People who became blind after birth can see images in their dreams.
People who are born blind have equally vivid dreams involving their other senses.

3. Everybody dreams.
Every human being dreams (except in cases of extreme psychological disorder).
If you think you are not dreaming, you just forget your dreams.

4. In our dreams, we only see faces that we already know.
Our mind is not inventing faces.
These are faces of real people that we have seen before but may not know/remember.

5. Not everybody dreams in color.
Today, 4.4% of sighted people dream in black and white, the rest dream in full color.
The change may be linked to the switch from black-and-white film and TV to color media.

6. Dreams are symbolic.
If you dream about some particular subject it is not usually about it.
Whatever symbol your dream picks, it is usually not a symbol for itself.

7. The most common emotion experienced in dreams is anxiety.
Dreams are more susceptible to negative emotions than positive ones.

8. You can have four to seven dreams in one night.<>9. Animals dream too.
Studies have shown that animals have the same brain waves during sleep as humans.

10. Body Paralysis.
The body is paralyzed by the brain.
It prevents the movements in the dream from causing the physical body to move.

11. Dream Incorporation.
Sometimes we hear a sound from reality and incorporate it into our dream.

12. Men and women dream differently.
Around 70% of the characters in a man’s dream are other men.
A woman’s dream contains almost an equal number of men and women.
Men have more aggressive emotions in their dreams than the females.

13. Precognitive Dreams.
Some dreams do turn out to be real.
It's like experiencing déjà vu.

14. If you are snoring, then you cannot be dreaming.

15. You can experience an orgasm in your dreams.
